According To “Genie Music Awards,” There Was Evidence Of Fraudulent Voting For The “Idolplus Global Popularity Award.”

On October 19, the “2022 Genie Music Awards” released a statement warning of possible fraud in the ongoing “GMA Idolplus Global Popularity” award voting.

The announcement reads,

“Welcome to Idolplus.
We noticed unusual traffic that may have been fraudulent votes for the “GMA Idolplus Global Popularity,” and we took steps to fix the problem.
For these musicians, voting fraud is allegedly committed: Psy, BLACKPINK Massive voting patterns and a lot of odd traffic were seen.
There were 1,627,041 bogus votes cast for BLACKPINK and Psy (306,08).
Measures taken in response: Additional tools have been implemented to avoid fraudulent voting in the future and these fraudulent votes have been annulled.
On October 20, 2022, between 2 and 2:50 p.m., voting will be restructured.
We will keep an eye on voting activities to ensure that the process is as fair as possible.

On November 8, Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon will host the “2022 Genie Music Awards.”
