The first trial of Kim Sae Ron, who was charged with breaking the Road Traffic Act and was indicted, was heard by the Seoul Central District Court on March 8th (drunk driving). According to Kim Sae Ron’s attorney, “The defendant is presently supporting her family as the eldest daughter, and her family is also having financial troubles after paying a significant sum in damages compensation.”
Kim Sae Ron was ordered to pay a fine of 20 million won by the prosecution because she “tried to flee without taking any steps after driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 0.2%.” The last statement from Kim Sae Ron was, “This will never happen again. I really apologize, and I will think about myself.
When questioned about her current situation following the trial, Kim Sae Ron responded, “I’m working part-time.”
Kim Sae Ron spoke about her financial struggles during the first trial, although an attorney from one of the “Top 10 legal firms in Korea” was standing behind her.
On March 9th, the New Daily reported that Kim Sae Ron had hired two law companies to represent her, one of which is a sizable firm that is in the Top 10 law firms in Korea.
Kim Sae Ron’s case was taken up by predecessor attorney A, who serves as both the firm’s representative and a former chief prosecutor.
Lawyers who previously held important positions in the prosecution or courts are known for charging fees that are far greater than those of regular attorneys.
This is a very different circumstance from the one where Kim Sae Ron begged for forgiveness, claiming that she is having trouble making ends meet after paying a sizable amount in damages compensation.
In earlier broadcasts, Kim Sae ron showed off her opulent home and exotic vehicles. She disclosed that she resides in an opulent apartment inside the Seoul Forest The Sharp, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, when she made an appearance on tvN’s “On and Off” in 2020. The sale price of this apartment was 2.3 billion won at the time. She also sat in a high-end vehicle worth 50 million won.
Kim Sae Ron made her debut as a magazine model in 2001, and “A Brand New Life,” released in 2009, marked the beginning of her acting career. She appears to have gained assets worth billions of won by becoming a famous overnight because to the popularity of the film “The Man from Nowhere” from 2010.
Internet users find it impossible to accept that Kim Sae Ron is having financial problems as a result of the tragedy.

The sentencing hearing for Kim Sae Ron will take place on April 5.
On May 18 of last year, Kim Sae Ron, who was driving under the influence of alcohol near the Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, caused an accident in which she collided with guardrails, street trees, and transformers. It was determined that Kim Sae Ron had a blood alcohol content of 0.227%, which qualified for license suspension.
